In the Forex market, all currencies are traded in pairs which are named by the two abbreviations of the currencies.
For example, the currency pair AUDUSD represents the Australian dollar against the US dollar.
In a currency pair, the base currency is the first currency listed, while the counter currency is the second currency listed.
The value of the base currency is always set to 1, and the exchange rate between the two currencies is expressed relative to the base currency.
The bid price is the price at which a trader can sell a currency pair, and the ask price is the price at which a trader can LONG/BUY a currency pair.
The minimum rate fluctuation is called a point, a pip or a tick.
For currency pairs quoted with 4 decimal points, such as AUDUSD, the minimum rate fluctuation is 0.0001
